Kristin has been photographing people for a living since 2002, when she opened her first studio in California. Two decades later, she's one of the most sought-after corporate headshot photographers in the country — known for a warm, expression-coaching style that puts even camera-shy executives at ease.
Our Story
From one California studio to a nationwide practice
Blue Sky's Studio started as a single California studio and a simple belief: a headshot isn't about the camera, it's about the person in front of it. Kristin built her reputation one session at a time — learning that the difference between a photo someone tolerates and one they're proud of comes down to how they feel in those few minutes.
That reputation grew into a nationwide practice. Today Kristin personally photographs executives and teams from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Chicago, New York, and Austin — and travels across the country for company-wide programs — always with the same standard: enterprise-level consistency, delivered with the warmth of an artist who knows your name.
THE APPROACH
Most people don't like being photographed. That's what I set out to change.
My entire approach is built around expression coaching — small, guided cues delivered in the moment that help each person relax and look like the confident version of themselves. It's why clients tell me their team left a session in a better mood than they arrived, and why the photos actually get used instead of quietly swapped for a phone selfie.
The technical craft — matched lighting, clean backgrounds, natural retouching — is the baseline. What people remember is how the session felt.
